Rudy Moore & the Bluegrass Pals

With a combined total of over 150 years of musical experience Rudy Moore and the Bluegrass
Pals carry a wealth of bluegrass history.  Musical traditions based on the sounds of Bill
Monroe, Louvin Brothers, Stanley Brothers, Flatt and Scruggs are evident in listening to them
sing and play with heartfelt emotion.

Rudy Moore has been playing and singing for over 45 years but enjoys the current group the
best. He is married and has 2 sons, 1 stepson, and 1 stepdaughter, but none play any music
and his wife only likes bluegrass when she listens to the Pals play.  Rudy grew up listening to
Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs and the older ones, and is partial to more traditional music.
His Father played several instruments but mostly mandolin while Rudy started on the broom
sitting behind him when they had a jam at someone's house.  He loves bluegrass music and
the friendship and fellowship that go with playing. Rudy and family live in Finger, TN.

Paul Adams is married to Tonya and they have 2 great children—Ben & Bethany.  Three
passions drive Paul ministry, marriage, & music. Paul started playing right before high school
which was around 1977 with banjo influences by Earl Scruggs and Sonny Osborne. His father
and 3 brothers all played music and traveled and played together for about 25 years. Paul is
very thankful for the talent God has given and loves to preach and pick and sing at every
opportunity.  Paul has started working with a few young pickers with the hope they will keep
the music going.  Paul and his family live in Dumas, MS.

Johnny Leatherwood and Rudy have been picking together for nearly 25years.  He has been
playing since he was a very young lad and learned from grandpa by playing with him as a boy
at dances and community functions.  John has played at many square dances over the years.
John is married, to Maybell, and they have 2 sons (1 deceased) and 1daughter. He has lived in
the south part of McNairy County for his entire life and currently lives in Guys, TN.

Bobby Isbell, has been married to his wonderful wife Amanda for one year, and they have one
spoiled dog.  Bobby started playing guitar at the age of 15, but didn’t fall for bluegrass until
he was 20.  Bobby enjoys playing guitar, dobro, and mandolin in his spare time and leading
worship at church.  Bobby has done well in several dobro contests, including being the 2009
Holladay, TN champion.  Whether it is traditional or modern bluegrass, or contemporary
Christian music, Bobby is truly blessed to have the talent and opportunity to play music.
Bobby and Amanda make their home in Selmer, TN.

Steve Killingsworth grew up as a non-musician in a musical family, but took up the double
bass at the age of 39.  Steve counts among his influences jazz greats Ray Brown and Percy
Heath as well as progressive bluegrass bassists Missy Raines and Byron House.  He has been
married over 20 years, has two teen-aged children, and lives in Stantonville.

Kevin Keen has been playing guitar since he was 10 years old.  He used to spend many hours
with his grandfather and uncle who help sow the seed of music.  He greatly remembers those
Saturday nights listening to the Grand Ole Opry with them.  Kevin started playing mandolin a
little over 7 years ago and has won several mandolin competitions throughout the region and is
thankful for his gift of music. Mandolin influences are Adam Steffey and Wayne Benson.
Kevin lives in Stantonville, TN with his wife Leigh Ann, and daughters Jennifer and Mallie.
